GlasWeld removes scratches from windows at David Copperfield's private island resort.
What could possibly go wrong at a 700-acre tropical private island retreat nestled in the Caribbean—owned by David Copperfield at that? Not much, you might suppose. Yet, earlier this year, all the illusions in the world couldn't fix scratched windows at a spectacular beach home located at Musha Cay and the Islands of Copperfield Bay. Yes, even the magician himself couldn't make these scratches disappear from his private island retreat, so his people called in the experts: GlasWeld. The dining room in "The Landings" building on the island resort features more than 20 banks of windows with views of the sand and sea. These beautiful views were marred by ugly wide scratches on many of the windows, right up to the edges of the glass. The damage was caused by electric hand sanders when the wood window frames were being prepped for paint and stain.
Because everything is imported to the island on a barge or by plane, it was cost prohibitive and next to impossible to replace the glass with new material. Each window had been customized for The Landings building.
GlasWeld was able to consult and provide a solution with the Gforce™ Glass Scratch Removal Kit. Its portable, clean design, which allows polishing right up to the edge of the window, made Gforce the perfect solution for the resort’s scratched glass problems. A team of GlasWeld technicians traveled to the location and were able to remove the damage quickly and provide a clear, distortion-free view of the beautiful Caribbean.
While other systems may perform some "sleight-of-hand," Gforce is the real thing—preferred by top glass companies all around the world.
